Azalea Vision works on a solution for patients with high light sensitivity and ocular disorders, automatically adjusting to the surrounding environment, at an uncompromising level of comfort and discretion.

To achieve this goal, Azalea Vision is developing a smart solution with an active light management system, embedded inside a contact lens. The product adapts in real-time to environmental light conditions and compensates the altered functionality of the iris by acting on brightness and depth-of-field at the same time. Refractive errors, such as myopia or astigmatism, will be also compensated for a wide level of diopters and aberrations.

Azalea Vision’s smart solution will be customized for each patient and will react dynamically to any intensity and type of light (UV, halogen, LED, etc.) in a matter of milliseconds. The users will keep the control over the therapy to accommodate it to any evolution of their symptoms or any activity of daily living. Additionally, damaging UV rays will be blocked before reaching the crystalline lens thanks to the inherent UV protection of the lens, preventing cataract development (due to UV exposure).
